2 volumes in one, 8o (183 x 120 mm). Half-title to vol. 1. Engraved throughout, "Feuilles" 1-64 (two on folding sheets), choreographical notation and music, some illustrations of dancers, frontispiece to vol. 2. (Old marginal repair on title.) Contemporary calf, flat spine gilt, edges gilt (joints repaired, endpapers renewed).
Issued as separate numbers, La Cuisse's Repertoire des bals consists of engraved choreographical diagrams and music, with each number describing different dances. The first volume of 1762 contains a preface and 30 numbers ("Feuilles"). The Suite du répertoire (1764) contains numbers 31 to 64. An imprint is found on each "Feuille" and each comprises two leaves, except for numbers 6 and 12 which are single leaves on long folding sheets with illustrations of dancers. A third volume followed these first two. VERY RARE: this is the only copy that appears in American Book Prices Current in at least the last thirty years (last sold Sotheby's London, 20 May 2005). RISM Recueils, p.340 (3 volumes); RISM Ecrits, p.470 (first volume only).
