法國的Dassault Systèmes (達梭系統)公司宣布,英國 Zaha Hadid 建築師事務所採用該公司所研發的 CATIA 虛擬設計軟體發展 Digital Project (DP), Gehry Technologies Building Information Modelling (BIM)。

建築師當中,使用 CATIA 最有名的莫過於 Frank O. Gehry 了,Frank O. Gehry 於1992年設計那尾位於西班牙巴塞隆納海濱的大魚時,就開始用這套 CATIA 在電腦上輔助設計,甚至是製造,CATIA 原是航太與汽車工業生產製造用的軟體,可以計算複雜的流線量體表面積,並可精準規劃金屬切割面,使建築承包商得以經濟且有效率的生產方式,進行十分複雜的建築形體的組裝工程,解決了許多建築師們的夢魘「為什麼營造廠蓋不出來我想像的建築?」,從設計直透營造,一條龍通到底,CATIA 幾乎可說是建築師(尤其是那些喜歡形體飛來飛去、流動個不停的建築師)的絕佳伙伴。

Zaha Hadid 最近在韓國的設計案像是東大門設計廣場及公園(Dongdaemun Design Plaza & Park),以及在北京的 Soho Galaxy 北京朝陽門SOHO三期都使用到了 CATIA 技術進行設計整合。

PARIS - (Business Wire) Dassault Systèmes (DS) (Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA) (Paris:DSY), a world leader in 3D and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, and Gehry Technologies, today announced that world leading Zaha Hadid Architects has expanded the deployment of Digital Project (DP), Gehry Technologies Building Information Modelling (BIM) system based on Dassault Systèmes’ CATIA virtual design solution.

Zaha Hadid Architects pushes the boundaries of architecture and urban design experimenting extending and intensifying existing cities and landscapes. In the pursuit of a visionary aesthetic the practice designs and develops some of the world’s most grandly innovative building projects on a huge and complex scale. These include the 340,000 square meter Soho Galaxy mixed office and retail site in Beijing and the radical 85,000 square meter Seoul Dongdaemun Design Plaza that includes a museum, library and educational facilities.

Taking these designs through to project delivery is a significant challenge. Revolutionary facades and the use of glass, steel and composites in entirely new structural ways requires unique processes and special methodologies. Functional, environmental and sustainable aspects of the buildings are equally complex with novel designs that must accord with practical and planning needs as well as providing significant visual and emotional responses. As building designs develop, a multitude of designers, contactors, engineers, planners, clients, project managers, fabricators, and other stakeholders need availability to, and interaction with, accurate current project status in 2 and 3D formats to suit their needs.

Cristiano Ceccato, Associate, Zaha Hadid Architects, explained the process of developing a design into a built environment. “We explore a range of solutions from the primary gesture through the use of digital tools within the overall creative process. Numerous, often overlapping data sources are used for our work and these must be assembled and centralized, formalized and integrated, into a cogent whole. On projects of this scale and complexity, accuracy is as crucial as flexibility and speed, as the 3D data is a critical component of project execution.”

Building project designs are developed on many diverse software systems. To handle this level of complex diversity, Zaha Hadid Architects deploys Gehry Technologies Digital Project (DP). Digital Project is a 3D Building Information Modelling (BIM) system developed by Gehry Technologies which uses CATIA as a core engine. Currently more than 10 major schemes are being developed at the practice using DP.

Cristiano Ceccato described how the practice applies Digital Project as a digital master system for its work. “As a single unified 3D software platform DP allows us to creatively evolve digital 3D models while retaining original design intent. 1973年成立的達梭,原本是以航空公司起家,叫做 Dassault Aviation,特別的是,這間航空公司從飛機草圖概念設計開始、機構設計、零件細部設計、到飛機整機組裝完成,完全不假他人之手,全由自家工程師一手包辦,因而發展出一套非常精密的設計軟體。

這個軟體就是達梭膾炙人口的旗艦品牌-CATIA。達梭航空因而成立了一個獨立的軟體設計部門-達梭系統,並找到重量級的買主波音,並利用3D軟體的優勢,於1995年為波音777機種成功的打造了3D數位模型,進行飛機組裝模擬,是史上頭一遭沒有打造實體模型而能實際製造的飛機機種,為飛機製造業界立下了一個黃金里程碑。

CATIA隨著電腦windows的發展修改成長到第五版,同時也因應市場的需求陸續購併了用於模擬測試的SIMULIA、用於虛擬數位化工廠的 DELMIA、用於全球協同作業管理的平台ENOVIA ,以及用於網路上運用3D模型讓用戶體驗與互動的3DVIA。

設計者在使用CATIA設計完成後,能應用模擬測試的SIMULIA,即刻模擬設計的物品是否符合實際的設計要求;而用於虛擬生產的DELMIA能模擬產品在生產線上實際作業的情況,讓整個製程更流暢更節省成本。而更關鍵的是能用於網路上運用3D模型讓用戶體驗與互動的3DVIA,因為它做為一個設計者生產者與消費者間一個重要的溝通橋樑,消費者只要透過3D呈現出來的栩栩如生的經驗,試用、試駕、試乘新產品,讓消費者能在宛如實際生活中體驗產品以及使用產品!間接的也參與了產品設計的過程,因而生產出來的產品也能更貼近市場需求,這是在以往都沒有辦法做到的事情。

這一連串的購併,顯然的是因應產品發展的需求而引發;發展出一組3C的概念-從源頭設計師creator的創作、到與其他生產線及工程師 collaborator的合作,至最終消費者 consumer的意見參與、即時體驗、臨場感受,擴大整個參與人數的層級及數量,讓說不同語言的各階段參與人員,能順利的在同一個基準線上溝通、交流,達到3D為消費者打開幻象之門的終極目標。

CATIA 名稱的由來




您可能已經是 CATIA 的Power User,可是您可知道CATIA名字的由來嗎?

CATIA這個字很有學問,是「Computer-Aided-Three-dimentional Interaction Application」的縮寫,CATIA的定位是整合企業人員、工具、方法和資源的基礎。

其特有的「產品/流程/資源(PPR)」模型和工作空間,能提供真正的協同環境,以激發員工的創造性、共享與交流3D產品資訊,以及以流程為中心的設計流程資訊。而由於它也是達梭最早的產品,所以,之後達梭所陸續併購的公司,為了能達到品牌的一致性,還有希望唸起來能更順口,所以命名都會以以IA為結尾,比如用於虛擬生產的DELMIA、用於虛擬測試的 SIMULIA、用於全球協同生命週期管理的ENOVIA ,以及用於線上3D、具有逼真體驗效果的3DVIA。

提到CATIA,就必須提到它的超級強項:除了有140多項模組外,其中最引人津津樂道的是有三項:

1.功能建模(Functional modeling),它能提高設計師的靈活性及效率,使設計師可以將精力集中於要如何設計,而非如何建模

2.CATIA產品造形設計(IMA)產品,引入新概念,突破傳統的曲面建模方式,專用於美觀的工業外形和概念設計。

3.內含知識擷取和重複使用功能(Knowledgeware),既能實現最佳的協同設計經驗,又能讓終端用戶充分發揮創新能力。

CATIA的建築版稱之為Digital Project, 而其公司名稱則為Gehry Technologies,可窺見該軟體與Frank Gehry事務所長期應用該軟體的關係。
